Love my wagon but.....
"Great car but it is best if you know how to turn a wrench. The E-46’s are great cars for driving feedback and driving pleasure. The known deficiencies will occur but can be fixed by either you or a mechanic. You can pay yourself and continue to like the car or pay a mechanic and label the car a money pit. "

The ultimate driving budget machine
"Fully loaded with every feature a new car has. Premium audio, self check system built in, average mpg ect, rear back up sensors, automatic head lights and rain wipers. Extremely reliable if using proper oil and doing proper maintenance. Highly suggest only buying ones in good condition with as little owners as possible. as people usually don’t maintain care that have had multiple owners. Recommend addressing the vehicles weak points ASAP. Replace the follow asap with lifetime warranty items: Window regulator. Coolant system to a metal radiator from plastic. Various sensors as soon as they go out or every 10 years except to replace them. I’ve owned personally 3 of these and 2 previous models. Did the exact same routine window regulators and coolant system then the vehicle easily lasted me over 400k miles each time I’ve followed this process or until it got wrecked or vandalized beyond repair. Leather, power everything, tons of built in features in the obd menu to monitor coolant temp down to the degree, as well as digital rpm, and mph. Has a built in dash check that makes sure everything is working as intended. Back seats are spacious along with the plenty of leg room up front and back.

Timeless car always looks modern even being 20 years old. It literally shaped the next gen of of cars.
Performance

Power wise it’s okay by today’s standards it’s not too powerful or lacking power. Respectable 0-60mph in about 5-7 seconds and reaches a top speed of 147 mph. While being equipped with a hitch and proper brakes can tow 3000lbs.
