Good gas sipper
"The supercharger makes this a fun car to drive. Good on gas and pretty reliable. It's basically a rear wheel drive VW with better looks and better materials."
Interior

4.0

A bit on the cheaper side for a Mercedes but better than most economy cars.
Exterior

4.0

Nicer to look at than other small vehicles but doesn't have the normal Mercedes-Benz street presence which commands attention.
Performance

4.0

Good on gas and very agile. Ride comfort is sacrificed slightly for performance but that's common at this price point for MB. 6 speed manual transmission makes this a cheap sports sedan.

Great little car
"The Mercedes C-230 Kompressor Coupe is a nice little compact coupe that is fun to drive. The handling is excellent and corners nicely around curves in the mountains. The turbocharged 2.0 has enough power to make it a fun ride and can do 120 mph with no problem. Only issue I had was the sun roof that got stuck open and wouldn’t work. I found a fix online and got it to close. Didn’t bother to mess with it. Otherwise, a reliable ride that worked well for 3 years while I owned it. "

Interior is not great. Lot of plastics that broke and made noise when you ride over bumps.
Exterior

5.0

Exterior remained perfect after 14 years with no paint fading. Still looks new and it is a great looking car.

Love the performance of this car. Decent torque from the supercharger when you need it. Handles great and pretty reliable.

Good for 2 people. Definitely not practical for a family of more than 2, as it is the case with most coupes. The hatchback provides plenty of room when rear seats are folded down.

Mercedes cars are not cost effective even for an oil change at dealership. Parts are expensive when they break down. As long as it runs without issues, you’ll be fine. Once major electronic or mechanical components start to break down, the repairs can run into thousands of dollars.
